There are 4 factors that contribute to Collagen powder being white: 

  1. Purification Process: During the extraction and hydrolysis process, collagen is purified to remove non-collagenous substances, leaving behind a nearly pure form of collagen protein. 
  2. Lack of Pigments: Collagen is a structural protein that naturally lacks pigments. 
  3. Dehydration: Collagen powder is created by dehydrating the collagen, which further concentrates the protein and removes any residual colour.
  4. Molecular Structure: The molecular structure of collagen, which is a fibrous protein with a triple helix formation, reflects light in a way that appears white or slightly off-white to the human eye.
